AMERICAN BEEF FINDER

How We Verify

What Does “Verified” Mean?

Every ranch in the American Beef Finder directory is checked against the ranch’s own website or Facebook page before it’s listed. We confirm:

  • The ranch sells beef directly to consumers (not just wholesale or at auction)
  • The location: the city and state where the ranch operates
  • How you can buy: local pickup, delivery, nationwide shipping, quarter/half/whole beef, or individual cuts and boxes
  • Current contact information: website, phone, or email

Each listing carries an evidence link back to the source page where we confirmed the details, so you can check for yourself.

How Is a Verified Listing Different?

Self-listed directories

  • Anyone can add a farm
  • Closed farms stay up
  • Dead links pile up
  • No check that they sell to families
  • Buying options are a guess

American Beef Finder

  • Every ranch checked before it goes live
  • We re-check and remove ones that don’t
  • Each listing links to its source
  • Direct-to-consumer sales confirmed
  • Pickup, delivery, shipping and share sizes noted

What Doesn’t “Verified” Mean?

We’re not inspectors and we don’t visit ranches. Verification means the listing information matched the seller’s own published information at the time we checked.

Prices, products, availability, and shipping policies change. Always confirm current details directly with the seller before you buy. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we’ll re-check it.

What Should I Still Ask the Seller?

  • Is the price by hanging weight or take-home weight?
  • Are processing and the kill fee included?
  • When is the next processing date?
  • Pickup, delivery or shipping, and what does it cost?

More questions are in our Buyer’s Checklist.

Why Does It Matter?

Most farm directories let sellers list themselves with no checks at all. That’s how directories fill up with closed farms, dead websites, and listings that were never real.

We do the checking up front, so you can search with confidence. We do the math. You decide what matters.

Can My Ranch Be Listed?

Independent American ranchers raise the best beef in the world. We help families find them, and we never compete with them. A listing is free if you:

  • Raise beef in the United States
  • Sell directly to consumers
  • Have a website or Facebook page that shows what you sell

Anyone can list. We verify.

We keep checking.

Websites and Facebook pages change, ranches close, links break. We regularly re-verify listings in the directory and remove the ones that no longer check out, so what you find here stays current.
