Choose How You Want to Buy

Start small or stock up. Choose the option that fits your household, cooking habits, and freezer space.

A SIMPLE FIRST STEP

Beef Boxes

A selection of cuts in one order. A handy way to try a ranch’s beef before making a larger purchase. Check the box contents and weight.

A SMALLER BEEF SHARE

Quarter Cow

A share of an animal with a mix of cuts. A starting point for buying in bulk. Ask how the ranch divides its quarters and which cuts are included.

MORE MEALS PLANNED

Half Cow

A larger share for households that cook beef regularly. Plan your freezer space and ask about cut choices, processing, and pickup timing.

YOUR BIGGEST STOCK-UP

Whole Cow

The beef from a whole animal, with a wide mix of cuts. Consider it for a larger household or a shared purchase, with plenty of freezer space planned ahead.

Exact quantities, prices, and cut selections vary by ranch and animal. Request a written estimate before ordering.

Beef Buying Guides

A little knowledge.
A lot more confidence.

Straightforward starting points for your first ranch-direct purchase.

How do I confirm where my beef comes from?

Ask the seller where the cattle were born, raised, and processed. Look for clear, specific answers and supporting information about the farm or ranch. A seller’s address alone does not tell you where the cattle were raised.

What should I ask about feeding and finishing?

Ask what the cattle eat through each stage of their lives, including the finishing period before processing. Have the seller explain terms such as grass-fed, grass-finished, and grain-finished in the context of their own practices.

What belongs on my quarter or half beef checklist?

Confirm the weight used for pricing, what the estimate includes, processing charges, deposit and cancellation terms, expected cuts, packaging, freezer space, and pickup date. Ask how much variation to expect in the final packaged quantity.

How do I compare two beef offers?

Compare the same basis: estimated packaged weight, included cuts, processing fees, and delivery cost. Consider whether the selection suits the way you cook. Ask each seller to clarify any missing costs before placing an order.
